Since i’m working so much at the pool, i started to read more.  I just finished the complete short stories of ernest hemingway, which i started two terms ago for my literature class.  He’s a great writer, but he often depresses me.  Nothing like removing oneself from a book induced fog, to watch people swim laps.

his style is especially effective when he describes the spanish civil war.  there is something creepy and appropriate about his simple sentences and omitted thoughts/words/phrases.  I also often wonder if his character nick, is really him.  or at least very similar to him.

i’m also, almost done brett’s the short stories book by kurt vonnegut.  these are really excellent too.   I really enjoy short stories.

chester wanted to get wasted and the rest of us wanted to hang out… but no one else was in the city.

so we drank beers & stuff and played hearts.  Dan shot the moon.  Chester left before the camera came out and dan was too drunk to take a picture of me.   Aren’t we fun?
