I figured i should end my last day at blue like my first,  with a blog post.  i’m feeling slightly nostalgic and that seems highly inappropriate.

I wish that i could say i learned some life lessons, or have matured a lot over the past six months.  But i feel that i am exactly as i was six months ago.  My thoughts, concerns, and actions seem identical.  I’m still scared of the real world and scared that i am not creative enough.

in brighter news, i’ve got an awesome project to work on for the next few weeks.  And i’m totally pumped.

Some pictures and very short blurbs of what i have done for a week:

So the first night i went out to eat with these cool kids.  mmm caffeine, sugar, and fried dough.

but it certainly wasn’t all fun and games…  here we are waiting in line to learn stuff… and working the best shift ever…. READY ROOM….

Here Ben posed with his chalk drawings…. and brett applied himself to jessie while on the job…

Then we ate some great peanut butter burgers at yo mama’s.  Which is my new favorite bar in the french quarter.

and we all sat by the river and watched the lightning storm…

On friday jessie, mike, and i walked around saw cute houses… and then jessie ate this apple.

ryan impersonated a student volunteer

and that night we listened to some sick jazz

yesterday two women came into blue carying canvases.  Apparently they were going to hang them on the walls.  This is whats going to be on the wall behind me.  I like them.  Some of my co-workers disagree.

somehow, i’ve become busy.

At work we got a job creating animations for a bank.  Its a horrible job, way too much work and super boring.  But, its boring enough that they give me sections to animate.   The client fails to realize that they aren’t paying us enough or have given us enough time to be as picky as they are.
Mostly, i enjoy sitting and listening to people in the office talk about it.  Imitations of what the mascot would sound like (or speculation on what he’s really doing in the animations).  Brainstorming on what tacky animation to put into each frame (“Curt if i count your section and there are any less than 50 sparkles and 2 lens flares you have to re do it!”).  And name calling of the client (too dirty to repeat here).  And yes, i used my first lens flare. (it was a background and i was ordered to.  Did you know after effects has a list of about 15 different lens flares?)

So i stayed late working, went swimming, then found out i needed to bake cookies for tomorrow.   So i some how juggled making 2 types of cookies, washing dishes, and making lunch for tomorrow.

Lunch came out looking so good i hope they don’t offer to buy me lunch again.  (cous cous with veggies and i used gypsy soup-like spices…. mmmm).

Funny how a little bit of shitty work makes me super happy.  :)

i thought i’d share with you what i’ve done with my old oatmeal containers.  Tacky and weird but i was always worried of the rice or beans spilling everywhere.  Problem solved.

I was assigned to make blood splatters.  I decided to do it in realflow.  Hit a roadblock on importing back into maya but (finally) sorted that out.

i’ve got a future in this for sure.

This needed rewriting.

So the idea is that every blue employee makes a character and the website will feature mortal kombat-like animated fight scenes.  I’m making the backgrounds
