i’ve fallen in love with this website

(happy?!)
So last time i went to the art museum i really like this one piece, but i forgot the artist’s name and couldn’t find him on the website collection. So i had to return.
This is the work of Tim Hyde named Untitled (monument).
its a photo collage installation. You can see the near perfect splicing of the multiple photographs.
He does a lot of work with photography as well as film. and most of his themes are about time, perception, and space. I liked these because they were elegant.
its really no wonder i like these. The splices mimic the lines of Demuth paintings. and the photgraphy is simillar to documentation of a Happening. They are funny and impossible, but interesting and complex, with flawless craft. I dig it.
every time i pass the art museum people are taking their picture with Rocky. I’ve started to wonder how many pictures there are of people with that statue.
it makes me want to create a video of all of these still images with rocky perfectly aligned and so just the people change. It’s especially funny when you consider the poses everyone makes around this statue.
i brought the archetects into the labs to sort out a camera move. They loved the wireframe views of maya and had me take a screenshot of it (i wasn’t going to render one out) if you think about it… that is pretty cool.
I’m afraid i’ve been neglecting this a little bit. So a long blog about the past week…..
Last saturday i went with my parents to the Barnes Foundation Museum
A man made his fortune in pharmaceuticals then used the money to buy art and teach students about it. Great art, probably the best collection i’ve ever seen. Problem–He arranged them into these wall sets and then added weird metal work & furniture around them to help you determine the forms in the paintings? It just seems cluttered. So cluttered you don’t even notice that there is a Picasso in the corner. Really a weird museum.
This trip made me realize that i really like Demuth and he might be the current favorite artist
I’m still doing that smart house stuff. One of the guys just sent me some old photos i thought i’d share.
I thought it was pretty cool.
she finally got her way (and picked a color).
