I figured i should end my last day at blue like my first, with a blog post. i’m feeling slightly nostalgic and that seems highly inappropriate.
I wish that i could say i learned some life lessons, or have matured a lot over the past six months. But i feel that i am exactly as i was six months ago. My thoughts, concerns, and actions seem identical. I’m still scared of the real world and scared that i am not creative enough.
in brighter news, i’ve got an awesome project to work on for the next few weeks. And i’m totally pumped.
sorry i haven’t updated in… forever. I have excuses… i’m just not going to list them here.
So i have a new apartment… i have yet to move into it officially. So time spent there is very similar to camping out
i’ll be happier once i have moved… but somehow before i move into an apartment i get very concerned… “what if there are lots of roaches?” “what if the plumbing explodes?” is it buyers remorse? fear of my parent’s approval? fear of pests? who knows!
anyway… expect a house warming party sometime once everyone gets back in philly :) I have a bottle opener… so you can bring wine.
and now for some advertisement?
I started reading this at the pool this morning. Its short and sweet, perfect for reading between lifeguard shifts. Its about an acquaintance’s experiences in a (probably Philadelphia) inner city school. So, if you ever need to write a sociology paper, kill time at the pool, feel like reading something, or want to support a young author… grab this book.
Some pictures and very short blurbs of what i have done for a week:
So the first night i went out to eat with these cool kids. mmm caffeine, sugar, and fried dough.
but it certainly wasn’t all fun and games… here we are waiting in line to learn stuff… and working the best shift ever…. READY ROOM….
Here Ben posed with his chalk drawings…. and brett applied himself to jessie while on the job…
Then we ate some great peanut butter burgers at yo mama’s. Which is my new favorite bar in the french quarter.
and we all sat by the river and watched the lightning storm…
On friday jessie, mike, and i walked around saw cute houses… and then jessie ate this apple.
ryan impersonated a student volunteer
and that night we listened to some sick jazz
If you wish to color correct all of my photos for your own sick pleasure… download them here
diego and i collected some change, purchased chalk, and proceeded to draw all over the rittenhouse fountain.
tons of fun…. go check out our art!
