I’m afraid i’ve been neglecting this a little bit.  So a long blog about the past week…..

Last saturday i went with my parents to the Barnes Foundation Museum

A man made his fortune in pharmaceuticals then used the money to buy art and teach students about it.  Great art, probably the best collection i’ve ever seen.  Problem–He arranged them into these wall sets and then added weird metal work & furniture around them to help you determine the forms in the paintings?  It just seems cluttered.  So cluttered you don’t even notice that there is a Picasso in the corner.  Really a weird museum.

This trip made me realize that i really like Demuth and he might be the current favorite artist

I’m still doing that smart house stuff.  One of the guys just sent me some old photos i thought i’d share.

I thought it was pretty cool.

she finally got her way (and picked a color).

noo not the creamsicle!

also, that may be the best museum i have ever seen. i’d love to go. i think it makes the art more appealing than any modern art museum could. but i think we have established out differing tastes in museum design ;)

Yeah, we’ve been talking about that museum in Art History. A lot of the plaques are actually wrong, but because of his will, nothing could be changed. And there’s one really famous painting that’s hung in a staircase so you can’t really get a good view of it. Fun stuff
