lifeguard waterpolo wars have begun.

I was assigned to make blood splatters.  I decided to do it in realflow.  Hit a roadblock on importing back into maya but (finally) sorted that out.

i’ve got a future in this for sure.

I was upset and i found myself  out side of the fabric workshop (some of you might remember it as the place that had the interesting florencent tube shopping cart).  I entered the gift store.

Why is it that a store full of things that were designed with though can calm me?  Clearly, i wasn’t buying anything because it’s all junk.  but i always like looking at the items.

It was an all over calming experience.  And i read a book (read is a stretch… it was mostly pictures) about Overbrook School for the Blind, so i know a little bit more of what to expect for my interview on Thursday.  Seems like a pretty cool place.

p.s.  I’m tempted to go to Gazela’s Volunteer recruitment on this saturday.   It worked out well for my parents, maybe it’ll work out well for me?  Although, i should probably get a paying job instead…………

For earth day or something drexel was handing out rubiks cubes with fun facts of how you can help your environment.

Clearly… they don’t get it

1.  Lets waste resources to create 100’s of these to hand out

2.  Lets get something that was produced in china so we waste oil shipping it here

3. lets make it something no one wants to keep (or can use) so everyone will throw it into the garbage and it will be put into landfills.

Once again,  Drexel misses the target on being environmental.

Suggestion for next time… give us reusable shopping bags instead of suggesting that on the side of a piece of junk.  Give us a reusable coffee mug.

Revisions—–

I spelled Rubiks wrong the first time… i’m sorry and i have fixed it.

Apparently this is a green rubiks cube… http://gogreencube.com/rubiks.htm

but my argument is still the same.  It’s a piece of useless junk that will be thrown out regardless of it being created from recycled material.  And it was still shipped here wasting energy to get it to drexel’s campus.

crin’s variation of the moosewood’s restaurant quick cornbread—

Take aprox two tablespoons of white vinegar put it into a 1 cup measuring cup and fill the rest with milk.  Let sit for ten minutes (you can use buttermilk… but who buys that?)

melt 3 tablespoons of butter. (more tastes good too)

in a bowl crack one egg

add two pinches of salt

add one pinch of baking soda

add aprox two teaspoons of Baking powder

and add one spoonful of honey (you can have more if you like it sweet)

add in the milk & butter

Mix

add in 1 cup cornmeal and 1 cup flour

MIX

spoon into a greased muffin pan & bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.

YUM

i didn’t get much done today.  Home to cook beans for 2 hours and do laundry.  (and take apart a bike!)

it’s even more obvious in person.   I’m now collecting glass jars to replant them into.  This is going to be a very bohemian herb garden.  I’m excited.

It’s not looking bad… needs doors, chimnys, and then plant life & landscaping.  Oh, and texture everything…  and maybe spend more than 10 seconds on lighting it.

p.s.  Compositng book + messing with shops/vops= shading in maya with the hypershade a lot easier.  I know what i’m doing now (sort of) and why it works/how to make it work (sort of).  Digm kids should read that book on acceptance into the program (me included).

I’m afraid i’ve been neglecting this a little bit.  So a long blog about the past week…..

Last saturday i went with my parents to the Barnes Foundation Museum

A man made his fortune in pharmaceuticals then used the money to buy art and teach students about it.  Great art, probably the best collection i’ve ever seen.  Problem–He arranged them into these wall sets and then added weird metal work & furniture around them to help you determine the forms in the paintings?  It just seems cluttered.  So cluttered you don’t even notice that there is a Picasso in the corner.  Really a weird museum.

This trip made me realize that i really like Demuth and he might be the current favorite artist

I’m still doing that smart house stuff.  One of the guys just sent me some old photos i thought i’d share.

I thought it was pretty cool.

she finally got her way (and picked a color).
